Q: Hi, you see alot if necklaces which are beads strung intermittently held in place either side by a crimp bead, The wire used looks like a Tigertail but thicker, is that thw 19 strand or do I need to be looking for something else.
A: Although the 19 strand wire does have 12 more steel threads it's not discernibly thicker, this is because the steel threads which make up the wire are really tiny. If you've come across a beading wire that looks thicker than the 7 strand then it's likely to have a thicker coating like our plastic coated wire www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Plastic-coated-wire-100m-reel/bo4182 rather than a higher steel content.

Q: is this wire strong enough for heavy beads
A: It really depends on the amount of beads you want to use and how heavy they are but if you want a strong, flexible wire I would recommend the 19 strands as it has a test-strength of 17lbs (8kg).

Q: What is the best type of wire to make hoop earrings? Please help.... I can not find a hoop earring as big as I am looking for.
