Q: Have you any clear or blue?
A: Beadalon is a nylon coated wire so the clear will still show up a silver colour because of the wire. We do stock blue Beadalon and you can find this amongst the other colours at www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Beadalon-7-strand-colours/bo4174. Q: Hi, this may sound weird so please bear with me. I want to make snowflakes using wire and beads by threading a length of wire with seed beads, folding it in half, twisting together and securing the two loose ends together. Then make another one and placing it perpendicular so I'd have a cross, then add another two at a 45º angle. Can you visualise that? So is this the right kind of wire to use? I need it to be flexible enough to work with easily, yet strong enough to hold its shape. Thank you
A: It doesn't sound weird at all! You definitely don't want beading wire though, this kind of wire drapes and is good for necklaces and things but won't hold its shape. You need something more sculptable, like the wire in this section - www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/wire-metal-based/c435 It's hard to say which one will be best for your project, it does depend how large you are making it, but I would have thought maybe 0.4mm or 0.6mm would do it, it is quite thin but as you are twisting two strands together it should still hold its shape and if you choose a wire that's over 1mm it will be harder to bend.
