Frequently asked questions about the product: Beading needles size 10
Q: Are beading needles suitable for threading seed beads?
A: The beading needles in size 10 will be suitable. These needles will fit through both sizes of the rocailles fine.
Q: CAN YOU THREAD WIRE THROUGH BEAD NEEDLES
A: Our beading needles are generally recommended for use with very fine threads, such as loom thread. If the wire in question is extremely thin it should be possible but if you're using wire it may be rigid enough without a needle.
Q: Dear Sir, Are size 10 beading needles available with a calyx eye or easy thread eye.
Thank You for your help
A: I'm afraid all of our needles only come with a regular eye, not self-threading or easy threading. I'd only recommend them for our thinnest threads (loom threads) and intricate work with seed beads. Most other beading can be done easily without needles.
Q: On ordinary needles the eye is wider than the point, so when I try to feed one through a bead, it gets stuck when it comes to pushing the eye through ... do these bead needles stop that? I have some 4mm crystal bicone beads that I'd like to thread onto cord or such like - but it is too thick to do with just my hands, hence trying to use a needle.
A: Beading needles are the same thickness from the point to the eye so that they fit through the holes of beads easily. Twisted needles are also designed especially for threading beads - www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Twisted-steel-needle-size-10/bo1037 They are very thin, but the eye is bigger so it's easier to thread the cord, etc through it. Then the eye will squash down and become the same size as the rest of the needle when it's pulled through a bead. Whether or not to use a needle depends on the type of thread you want to use, many beading threads are stiff enough to thread just using your fingers.
Q: What is the difference between the sizes? Is it the length of the needle, the size of the eye, the thickness of the needle, etc?
A: The higher the number the thinner the needle, so size 15 is the thinnest, with the smallest eye and size 10 is larger with a larger eye.
