Frequently asked questions about the collection: Ceramic
Q: can your ceramic beads with stand being in water, I'd like to make some earrings using ceramic multi glazed rounds, but I often forget to take them out when I shower.
A: I think they will be fine. I've had a look and the glaze runs almost through the hole, so that will make them stronger. This ceramic has been glazed and then fired so it shouldn't deteriorate in occasional soakings.
Q: Do you have sweet shape and cake beads please
A: We have a metal cupcake charm at: www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Cupcake/bo4425?sid=7193#item7193 but no other sweet or cake beads at the moment I'm afraid. They would be a fun thing to make yourself out of Fimo clay www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Fimo-blocks/bo4812?sid=6584#item6584 if you're feeling creative!
Q: Hi, do you sell pandora style beads and charms? Many Thanks
A: Indeed we do, you'll find them online at www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Pandora-Style/c508
Q: Hi, i'm looking for ceramic pendants which can be decorated and refired. Can you help? thank you.
A: I don't know of anyone that sells ceramic blanks that you can then re-fire. You may have to make them yourself from clay and then glaze and fire them yourself. There seem to be pottery painting cafes springing up all over the place (maybe it's just in Brighton that we're spoilt for choice!), it might be something that you could make somewhere like that, or perhaps a craft course at a local college.
Q: I know that this is probably an unusual question, but as a keen crafter I would like to use some of these beautiful products in my projects. The problem is what kind of adhesive would I need to use and do you sell adhesive?
A: It depends what you would like to stick the ceramic beads to. I'd recommend a 2 part glue like epoxy resin, we sell a good one at: www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Epoxy-two-part-glue/bo1018 It's strong, clear and great for bonding two different materials to each other.
