Q: Do you sell thread for 10.0 seed beads?
A: 10/0 seed beads would be between the two sizes we sell, so would be about 2mm in diameter, and the holes much smaller. Q: Does the cotton thong fray at the ends? If so, how do you recommend preventing this if using just for a simple pendant necklace with knotted thong?
A: Our cotton thong is woven so it will fray slightly but you can prevent this by adding a small dab of PVA glue or clear nail varnish to the ends.

Q: Hello.I am looking for a 2mm black necklace thong that is not waxed as I am Vegan. Are any of your cotton thongs not waxed? If not, please do you know anyware else that may sell anything suitable? Thank you.
A: Our 'waxed cord' www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Waxed-cotton/bo7602 would be fine as it's not actually waxed, according to the manufacturers it's polished. It's made of organic cotton and doesn't involve any animal products or beeswax or anything like that.

A: We haven't unfortunately tested our cord for its test strength. I would recommend buying a sample as our minimum order value is just £5 and you can buy our cord by the metre.

Q: Hi. Do you have Leather thong & cotton thong - Cotton thong thin size 1mm ONLY or less in other colours except black, brown and natural? Because I can't use 1.5mm cord with your Calotte-they are too small. Can you tell me please how to use Leather crimp round? Better if you have video. Thank you.
A: We have lots of colours of leather thong that come in a 1mm thickness at: www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Leather-thong/bo4157 and cotton at: www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Waxed-cotton/bo7602 To use a round leather crimp you need to slide in your thread, knotting it if necessary to get a really tight fit. The crimp itself looks kind of like a spring, the important thing is to squeeze only the bottom rung of the crimp with a pair of flat nosed pliers. Sorry we don't have a video of this technique available at the moment.

Q: How wide is the thong?- I'm looking for 0.6mm
A: The cotton thong comes in the following widths: thin (BTN) is 1mm, medium (BTM) is 1.5mm and thick (BTK) is 2mm.

Q: How would I make sure the knot doesn't come undone when I am making a beaded necklace? Do you recommend superglue?
A: Cotton thong generally doesn't need anything on the knot to hold it fast, though I would recommend superglue on elasticity or nylon. You could try experimenting with different types of knots to make sure it is secure, it depends on what sort of necklace you are making as to what would be suitable. Sliding knots are quite popular as they allow you to adjust the length of the necklace, or a plain old reef knot/square knot should hold tight with no glue required. Q: I want to buy BTM bootlace fine or suede in navy. I can find BTM417 in local shop but too thick - do you sell this?
A: If you are looking for a fine thread thinner than the 1.5mm cotton bootlace we have a 1mm Waxed cotton cord or thin 1mm bootlace in a range of colours. If you would like a navy blue I would suggest trying our thick silk cord in the dark blue www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Silk-thread-thick/bo4218.

Q: If I buy 3m of one of your cords will it be cut or all in one piece?
A: When you buy a length of retail cord it will be cut in one continuous length.

Q: Is there A coating on your cotton thong and if so is it vegan friendly?
A: Yes, there is a coating on our cotton thong and we have asked our suppliers to confirm what it contains and they have been a bit cagey (could be the language barrier) but I think it contains beeswax, so it's not vegan friendly. You are safe to try the 'waxed cord' www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Waxed-cord/bo4159 because it isn't waxed at all but sort of polished, just so it will slip through beads easily, not to a high shine. It's made from organic certified cotton and because there's no wax used it's suitable for vegans.

Q: is this any good for shamballa bracelts?
A: Yes, we have used 1mm cord to make shamballa style bracelets and found this to work best.

Q: Please can you confirm that this cotton cord is certified organic and whether it will come with some kind of documentation saying this? Many thanks.
A: Our cotton cord unfortunately isn't certified organic. We used to stock organic waxed cord but have recently changed suppliers.
