Q: I want to make a necklace with felt beads which have no holes, so I will need to thread the elastic through a darning needle first - would elasticity thin be suitable ?
A: Yes this would be suitable but it depends on the weight and size of the beads so if you need more durability and strength you might want to opt for the thick.

Q: Is this suitable for glass bead bracelets?
A: It really depends on the finish of your glass beads because if the holes have a rough finish this may abrade the elasticity over time. Our Indian glass beads have a chalk inside the hole to prevent this wear and our Czech beads have smooth machine made holes.

Q: What are the best clasps to put on the ends of elastic thread for necklaces and bracelets?
A: The beauty of using elasticated thread is you can simply knot it to finish off your piece but if you would like to finish the ends with a clasp I would recommend attaching a calotte or flat leather crimp to either end. You can attach any clasp you like but you will though have to be careful not to cut through the elastic when attaching the calottes/crimps and this is why we normally recommend using beading wire.

Q: What is the best elastic for pearls with a very small hole?
A: This is the finest elastic we stock at 0.5mm and is great for beads with smaller holes.

Q: what is the best way to join the ends when using this for a bead bracelet please?
A: Elasticity needs to be handled firmly, it's stronger than it looks! Just thread your beads on (not too heavy or with any sharp edges!) and give it a couple of really tight knots. If you seal the knots with superglue or clear nail varnish they will last longer.

Q: Would this be suitable for a child's necklace. Would it be easy to break?
