Q: Could you please let me know if this item is Nickel free. Thanks Carole
A: The term 'nickel free' doesn't necessarily mean that an item contains no nickel, just that the nickel release rate is at a set level, lower than that of 'low nickel'. All of our items including the Hair comb conform to the current EU nickel directives definition of low nickel. To be described as low nickel, products intended to come into direct and prolonged contact with the skin (like ear studs) must release nickel at a rate of less than 0.2 µg/cm2/week. Q: Please could you tell me if the metal hair comb would cause silverplated wire to tarnish or react with it? Thanks
A: It shouldn't make the silver plated wire behave any differently, they have an iron base and are then plated with a silvery coloured metal (not silver plating). Silver plated wire will tarnish gradually over time, you can clean it with silver polish whenever it loses its sparkle.
