A: No, I'm afraid we don't mix the different finishes and sizes of jump rings, we do sell small retail packets of all of our jump rings if you want to try just a few of each.

Q: Do you have any plans to stock coloured jump rings?

Q: Do you have any sterling silver jump rings in big quantities?
A: You can find all our sterling silver range at: www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Sterling-Silver/c448 the wholesale quantities are smaller because of the greater cost of the sterling silver but the 10% wholesale discount still applies if you buy 5 or more of the same item. Just add the quantity you'd like to your basket and the site will calculate any discount that applies.

Q: Do you need anything to open jump rings? Or can you just use your fingers?
A: You can generally just twist them open with your fingers but it's easier to use pliers, round nosed are best.

Q: Do you sell 6mm Jump rings?
A: We have 5mm and 7mm available in our range of plated finishes with might be suitable for you or alternatively we have sterling silver jump rings available in 6mm.

Q: do you sell closed jump rings

Q: Do your jump rings contain Nickel?
A: All our jump rings have been tested by us and conform to the current EU nickel directives definition of low nickel. To be described as low nickel, products intended to come into direct and prolonged contact with the skin must release nickel at a rate of less than 0.5 µg/cm2/week. They do contain nickel but only release it at safe levels. Q: Hi could you tell me do you do 3mm jump rings?
A: No, I'm afraid the 4mm are our smallest jump rings. You may be able to find an alternative supplier through our links page at: www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/home/links.php or you could make your own jump rings from plated wire if you have the time and patience.

Q: I need 10mm and 12mm jumprings. Do you stock them?
A: The largest jump ring we stock is 8mm. If you are looking for something larger you might prefer to make your own and we sell lots of finishes of plated wire www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Metal-Based-Wire/c435 which you can use.

Q: Is it possible to get jump rings that do not snatch open so easily? The ones I have had seem too easy to open making them easier to break... I noticed a comment about thicker ones and wondered if there is any way to obtain these as a specific preference please? If yes how do I do that with my order?
A: We do sometimes use a 'back-up' supplier if running low on certain findings which is why they can vary slightly. It tends to be particularly noticeable in the jump rings as the thickness differs, we find some customers prefer the thicker variety but others find them a little stiff to work with, we can't seem to win this particular one! You can always write a note in the comments box when you get to the checkout specifying that you only want the thicker rings but availability is limited to when we have them in as replacements for the usual stock. Q: Is it possible to split the jump rings to go through the pendant so that the leather tie can go through it? Supposed to be ordering for an event at the weekend and not sure what I need . Also - do you think I could use filmo modelling clay to cut ou t small crosses and bake . Would it be easy and strong enough do you think?
A: Yes all or our Jump ring come with a split so you can open them up and attach them. Fimo is great for making your own pendants I think the crosses would work well as long as they are thick enough. You will need to add a hole before baking so you can attach a jump ring or you could insert an eyepin down the center and bake with it in but I would also recommend using some glue to make it extra secure.

Q: What diameter wire are the jump rings made of?
A: The smaller the ring the thinner the wire, so 4mm rings are about 0.5mm, the 5mm are about 0.7mm and the 7mm and 8mm are about 1mm thick. This is quite a rough guide and jump rings can vary a bit from batch to batch.

Q: What size does the jump ring need to be to allow the end of the chain you supply to go through.
A: The widest part of the tag on the end of our assembled chains is 3.5mm wide and a 5mm jump ring will fit over comfortably. Jump rings are designed to allow you to open them as they have a split. So you could use a 4mm jump ring by opening it and closing it if you want a more delicate finish but it also depends on the thickness of the item you want to attach to the chain.

Q: Why do you need jump rings to put a charm on?
A: Some charms come with a jump ring already attached, others have clasps but most charms just have a closed loop, which means you need something to attach it to the chain. You can simply open the jump ring, slip it through the loop on the charm and the link of chain and then close it again to attach charms to a bracelet.
