A: They are open, all of the jump rings that we sell can be twisted open with a pair of pliers and then closed again. Q: Is this suitable and strong enough for chainmaille?
A: I wouldn't use these for chain maille as they aren't particularly strong or thick, our plated jump rings www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/jump-rings/c425 are a lot thicker and stronger.

Q: what gauge are these jump rings?
A: The thickness of these jump rings is 0.59mm. Using conversion guides 0.59mm thickness is between two gauges. 23 gauge (AWG) is 0.5714mm and 22 gauge is 0.643mm.
