A: We stock a larger range of colours in our thin 1mm thickness of leather (LTN).

Q: Hi there, Could you send me a small sample of one of the leather cords please so I can see if it is suitable for the job I want it for. Also can I buy 5 reels for the price of £50 but with 5 different colours? Many thanks, Sally Lees
A: You can buy a mix of colours at the 5 reel price and the 25 reel price. At the top of the page there are links to buying mixes. Q: How would you fasten your leather bracelet ? Fossil have a metal clasp which the leather slides through and has metal cord ends , or can you use a magnetic fastening?

Q: I am looking for 6mm wide leather on a reel
A: Our thickest leather is currently 2mm wide.

Q: I have been asked to repair a necklace that has very shoddy leather which has snapped in several places just when being worn is all leather this easy to snap?
A: It can be, leather isn't a particularly strong threading material, if you're looking for strength then a cotton thong is much tougher as it has many strands woven together.

Q: If I wanted to buy a 50m reel of 1mm white leather thong, could you source / supply? I plan to order 5 or 6 or your 50m reels (all 1mm in different colours) next week, but would like to include white.
A: We can possibly source specific items but there are normally very high minimum order quantities and it can take a few months to produce.

Q: Is the Leather thong medium (LTM01, leather, black, 1.5mm) round or flat.
A: Our leather thong is round.

Q: is this size suitable for 'macrame' work?
A: Yes, it should be but it really depends on the pattern you are using.

Q: What tip endings would you recommend for your leather LTK01
A: The LRS, round leather crimps www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Leather-crimp-round-small/bo4038 would be my choice, just slip the leather into the crimp and squash down the bottom rung of the crimp with pliers. You can get a really tight grip with these but they are a bit fiddly. You could also use flat leather crimps LF www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Leather-crimp-flat/bo4037 just put the leather in the middle then squash one flap over with pliers, then the next over the top of the first to enfold the leather in a tight grip.

Q: what type of leather cord is suitable for pandora style beads?
A: The pandora style beads have holes that are about 5mm wide so any leather up to 5mm thick would be suitable, you could even use a double thickness of 2mm leather (LTK)

Q: What type of leather is this? I need one that won't crack when I thread it through a button like the last one I bought did. I have read that Greek leather is the best but I'm not sure what the previous one I bought was.
A: The leather that we sell comes from India, it's quite supple and shouldn't crack. I've heard the same thing about Greek leather but I believe it's about 3 times the price.
