Q: Are these crimps ok to use with 3mm in width organza ribbon?
A: You'll be able to use these crimps with 3mm ribbon but you would need to fold the end of the ribbon a few times to ensure a tight grip. Q: Do you need to add glue when using these?
A: No you shouldn't have to add glue, just squeeze really tight with pliers, round nosed pliers can be really helpful to get a tight grip and several small squeezes can be better than one big one!

Q: Have you any smaller ones 3mm for instance?

Q: Hello, I think these crimps best suit my needs, so would like to test just with 1 pckt first - is that possible? P&P seems exorbitant!! I need to clip gold, silver and pink elastic 2 together, the `eye` is not actually necessary. I hope sides are not too difficult to bend, one on the other. Regards, Jill.
A: The ribbon crimps should be quite easy to bend, first one flap squashed down tight, then the other over the top. They are best used with a chunky thread, or something flat like suede, or ribbon of course. We have a minimum order of £5 because we sell so many inexpensive items and each order takes a similar amount of time to process and send, even if it is quicker to pick and put together.

Q: Hey there ive just ordered these along do you reckon i could use to to finish off Kumhimo bracelets
A: Yes you should be able to use these to finish any bracelet as long as the cord will fit into the crimp, these crimps measure 7mm wide.

Q: Hi, I am looking for a crimp end for ribbon and have found these on your website. I was looking for crimp ends with one of the ends have a hook and the other end a loop so that you use them as a pair and no need for any chain or anything in between. Hope this makes sense. Kind regards Helen

Q: Hi, the ribbon I want to use is only 6mm across - I was wondering if these crimps will secure it properly?
A: These crimps may be a bit too wide for the ribbon you have so I'm not sure it would secure it properly. We have flat leather crimps that are similar but they only measure 3mm across so these might hold the ribbon better, if you fold it over - www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Leather-crimp-flat/bo4037

Q: I want something that will take size 2mm xx 3 eg when plaited can you suggest anything
A: These ribbon crimps would be ideal, I've tested them and you can get 3 x 2mm threads into this crimp, then fold one side over with pliers and then the next over on top. If you squeeze the sides hard you should be able to get a tight grip on the threads. If the thread is any thicker then we don't have a ready made piece but you could try to fashion your own from silver plated wire 0.8mm www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Silver-plated-wire/bo4196

Q: I want to have 3 x 3mm leather thongs together as a necklace. Would these ribbon crimps be suitable to hold these and should i glue them in with a glue gun, or just fold the crimp over.
A: Three lots of 3mm leather would be a bit too much of a squeeze I think. I've tried them with 3 strands of our medium leather which is 1.5mm and that looks OK and holds securely. For multiple strands of such thick leather you could try fashioning your own end by wrapping some 0.6mm metal based wire (like the ones at: www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/wire-metal-based/c435) tightly around and around the thread, then sculpting a loop. You can even hammer this wire flat once it's wrapped around for extra strength.

Q: Would this crimp be ok to go with the 'Marvellous Monochrome' necklace?
A: Yes, it would be fine, you have to fold the ribbon in half but the ribbon crimps will work fine with the organza ribbon used in the project.
