Frequently asked questions about the collection: Swarovski bicone / xilion beads
Q: +I need 3mm for some bead weaving. Will you ever have this size?
A: We currently do not have any plans to increase our range of Swarovski beads I'm afraid. We are always looking for new items and expanding our ranges though so it is possible that in the future we may stock more Swarovski lines.
Q: Do you have magnet fasteners for necklaces and bracelets?
A: Yes if you look through our range of clasp and necklace parts www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/clasp-necklace-parts/c423 we have 5 different designs of magnetic clasp in sliver and gold.
Q: Do you offer 8mm bicone AB1?
A: No, I'm afraid we only have 4mm and 6mm Swarovski bicones and I don't think we're planning to add 8mm to the range soon. You may be able to find an alternative supplier through our links page: www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/home/links.php
Q: Do you stock 6mm top drilled swarovski bicones?
A: I'm afraid not, I've looked into it and I think Swarovski do make something like this, number 6301, a slightly top heavy bicone but it only comes in a few colours and I don't know any stockists off-hand. Try one of the suppliers listed on our links pages www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/home/links.php
Q: Do you think these beads will weather well in the garden? I am creating copper & crystal plant supports
A: These are crystal glass beads so they should be pretty hard wearing but they are also quite delicate if they are against something abrasive.
Q: I am doing a bead weaving project - bracelet with seed beads and Swarovski bicones - what stringing materials will cope with the crystals and can be threaded through a needle?
A: Try our wildfire www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Wildfire/bo4219 it's thin, strong, easy to use with a needle and you can't pierce the thread accidentally with a needle if you're sewing back through it, so no frayed threads!
Q: I would like to try making the Christmas Tree earrings - do you sock differing sizes of the Swarovski Flower beads?
A: We currently only have the one size of Swarovski flowers.
Q: What is the difference between the normal bicones and the AB1 bicones, apart from the price. For example the 6mm normal ones have the same codes but different prices.
A: AB1 stands for aurora borealis, it's a coating that the beads have that make them shimmer with an iridescent sparkle, a bit like the northern lights (hence the name). The beads cost more (and sometimes come in smaller quantities) because the extra coating adds to the production costs.
