Q: Hello, I am going to use beads to make an abacus. Can I confirm whether the beads are identical? I think from what I have read that they are, but I bought some other beads from eBay, and couldn't use them because some holes were not straight through the centre, and varied slightly from bead to bead. Also, what kind of dye can be used for dying them? Many thanks.
A: These beads are all machine turned and drilled, so they should be identical in hole size and diameter, they might vary from batch to batch but the manufacturer keeps them very regular. I know you can use Dylon all purpose dyes to colour them because I've tested that, some colours work better than others (reds and purples are especially good!). I'm not sure about any other brands or types of dyes.

Q: Hi there, was just wandering if these 25mm beads came with an 11mm hole in them, or even possibly no hole? I'm thinking of ordering over 300. Thank you. (WDCA25)
A: The holes in these beads are approx 3.5mm in diameter
