Q: are these nickel free?
A: All our jewellery findings conform to the EU nickel directives definition of low nickel. Nickel free can actually be used as a decription for items containg nickel, just releasing it at a lower rate than 'low nickel' items. To be described as low nickel products intended to come into direct and prolonged contact with the skin must release nickel at a rate of less than 0.5 micrograms of nickel per square centimetre per week. Q: I am quite new to jewellery making can you tell me what I should use this item for?
A: Wire guardians are little horseshoe shaped tubes which can protect loops of threads close to findings and clasps. You push your thread through them and you have a strong and professional looking loop. It's basically a metal jacket for your thread in the place where it's put under the most strain.
