Frequently asked questions about the collection: ceramic beads & pendants
Q: are you discontinuing all of these ceramic beads?
A: Yes, I'm afraid they are all discontinued due to problems with the quality we have been sent from our supplier. None of the poor quality beads are on sale but we have had to sort through and throw out lots of the beads we were sent because they were pitted, chipped or faulty in some other way. We're disappointed to see them go.
Q: can your ceramic beads with stand being in water, I'd like to make some earrings using ceramic multi glazed rounds, but I often forget to take them out when I shower.
A: I think they will be fine. I've had a look and the glaze runs almost through the hole, so that will make them stronger. This ceramic has been glazed and then fired so it shouldn't deteriorate in occasional soakings.
Q: Do you sell beads that look like dice and/or any bird beads that I could use to make earrings?
A: Yes we do have some plastic dice beads that you can find at: www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/home/search.php?searchfor=dice we don't have any bird beads but we do have a little bird charm: www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Little-bird/bo4423
Q: Do you sell just ceramic beads, not glazed one's?
A: No I'm afraid all of our ceramic beads have a glaze on them, we used to have plain ceramic a while ago but it wasn't that popular and we discontinued it, the last remnants of this range are now in the sale: www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Pony-10mm/bo720
Q: Hi, i'm looking for ceramic pendants which can be decorated and refired. Can you help? thank you.
A: I don't know of anyone that sells ceramic blanks that you can then re-fire. You may have to make them yourself from clay and then glaze and fire them yourself. There seem to be pottery painting cafes springing up all over the place (maybe it's just in Brighton that we're spoilt for choice!), it might be something that you could make at somewhere like that, or perhaps a craft course at a local college.
Q: I know that this is probably an unusual question, but as a keen crafter I would like to use some of these beautiful products in my projects. The problem is what kind of adhesive would I need to use and do you sell adhesive?
A: It depends what you would like to stick the ceramic beads to. I'd recommend a 2 part glue like epoxy resin, we sell a good one at: www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Epoxy-two-part-glue/bo1018 It's strong, clear and great for bonding two different materials to each other.
