Frequently asked questions about the collection: jump rings
Q: Are jump rings measured by their internal or external diameter?
A: It's their external diameter that we use. The rings are made of varying thicknesses of wire, the smaller the ring the thinner the wire so if you need to know the internal diameter please get in touch with the ring size.
Q: Are you going to stock oval jump rings in the near future?
A: I'm afraid that we have no current plans to add any oval jump rings to our range. You could try making your own by wrapping wire around a suitably shaped item then snipping with cutters.
Q: Do you have any jump rings with wire size 1.2 mm thick or thicker?
A: No, I'm afraid that we don't, our thickest jump rings (8mm) are 1mm thick. You may be able to make your own with silver plated wire, or you may be able to find a supplier on our links page at - www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/home/links.php
Q: Do you have any plans to stock coloured jump rings?
A: I'm afraid we don't at the present time, we do sell metal based wires with brightly coloured plating at: www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/Coloured-wire/bo1405 if you have the time to make your own, or you might be able to find a supplier via our links page at www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/home/links.php

Q: I am making charm bracelets with some fairly heavy charms, do you have thicker jump rings as have tried the others and they are not holding the large charms

Q: Why do you need jump rings to put a charm on?
A: Some charms come with a jump ring already attached, others have clasps and many charms just have a closed loop, which means you need something to attach it to the chain. You can simply open the jump ring, slip it through the loop on the charm and the link of chain and then close it again to attach charms to a bracelet.
