Materials
- 1 x 100g fancy glass mix emerald (GLXF16)
- 1 x thick silk thread emerald (SKK16)
- 1 x thick silk thread amethyst (SKK13)
- 1 x free project sheet (WEB07P)
Stage 1 - Starting off
For this necklace use both threads together as if you were using one thread. Silk thread comes with an integral, flexible needle. An easy way to use two threads at once is to twist the two needles around each other so that they make one thick needle. When you have done this, choose a large bead for the centre of your necklace. Thread this bead leaving approximately 12cm as a tail. Tie a knot just underneath and just above the bead to secure.Stage 2 - Adding beads
On the opposite side of your feature bead from the tail leave a space as required then tie a knot. Add a bead and then tie another knot after the bead. Continue knotting and adding beads until your necklace is the required length.Stage 3 - Finishing off
Pass the threads down through the large, central bead. Knot all 4 threads together underneath the bead. Add a bead to each tassel using the same technique (knot, bead, knot) placing the beads at slightly different heights to give a nice effect.Stage 4 - Finished necklace
Your finished necklace should look something like this.
