Materials

  • 1 x memory wire choker one strand (MW130-1)
  • 1 x AB moon bead faceted 6mm (GLPE0601)
  • 3 x AB moon bead fire polished faceted 4mm (GLPE0801)
  • 2 x bead tip gold plated (TIPAGP)
  • 1 x 3g metallic rocailles size 11 gold (M1132J)
  • 1 reel x Super lon D (SLD01)
  • 1 x Beading needles size 10 (ND10)
  • 1 x Multi pliers (PRMT)
  • 1 x Project sheet (MJ0912P)

Stage 1

Blue Moon NecklaceMeasure 15cm along the length of memory wire and cut, discard this section. Using the round nose section of your pliers bend one end of the memory wire into a loop, making sure it is completely closed.

Stage 2

Blue Moon NecklaceThread one of your bead tips onto the memory wire so that the large end covers the loop. Thread on the 6mm black faceted beads until you come to approximately 2 cm from the end of the wire. Add the remaining bead tip and bend the wire into a loop as before.

Stage 3

Blue Moon NecklacePrepare your needle with about 100cm of superlon thread. Create a stop bead by picking up 1 metallic gold rocaille with your needle and moving it to about 10cm from the end of the thread. Loop your thread round and through twice and pull tight.

Stage 4

Blue Moon NecklacePick up the 4mm black faceted moon beads until you have a section approximately 20 cm long. Pass the needle through the loop of memory wire and back through eight beads.

Stage 5

Blue Moon NecklaceMake sure the thread is pulled tight and knot the thread between the beads, pull tight and pass through the next eight beads, tie another knot. Pass the loose thread through several more beads and trim. Make 5 beaded threads for each loop of the memory wire.

Stage 6

Blue Moon NecklaceMake sure that you have passed any loose ends back through the beads for a neat finish.

To wear, simply tie the long tassels into a half hitch knot to secure into place.

Stage 7

Blue Moon NecklaceThis is what your finished necklace should look like.
