Materials

• 1 x 10 glass squares black (GLVC01)
• 1 x metre light chain gold plated (CHLGP)
• 1 x metre trace chain gold plated (CHTRGP)
• 1 x metre 19 strand beadalon gold coloured (BDW1932)
• 1 x pack of 12 crimps gold plated (CRGP)
• 1 x pack of 8 crimp covers gold plated (CRC3GP)
• 1 x pack of 100 8mm jump rings gold plated (JR8GP)
• 1 x trigger clasp gold plated (TRGGP)
• 1 x pack of 6 long ballwires gold plated (LBWGP)
• 1 x pack of 12 headpins gold plate (HPGP)
• 1 x pack of 12 eyepins gold plate (EPGP)
• 1 x project sheet (MJ1112P)
• You will also need a pair of multi pliers (CRMT)

Stage 1

Cut 40cm of plastic coated wire. Thread on a crimp, bend the end of the wire around and thread back through the crimp so you have a loop in the wire. Squeeze the crimp tightly with the flat part of your pliers. Close a crimp cover around the crimp for a neat finish.

Stage 2

Cut 60cm of light chain and trace chain. Thread the wire through the end link of each piece of chain. Weave through a few more links so that you have a small bunch of chain that is approximately 1cm. Thread on a black bead and pull tight.

Stage 3

Pass the chains across the front of the bead and thread the wire through the links in the chains to make the chain sit as tightly across the bead as possible. Weave through a few more links so that you have another small bunch of chain. Add six of your beads in this way.

Stage 4

Thread the wire through a few final links of chain and trim any excess chain. Thread on a crimp, pass the wire back through the crimp to make a loop and squeeze flat. Trim the excess wire and finish with a crimp cover.

Stage 5

Cut two 17cm lengths of light chain and attach one to each side of the beaded section with an 8mm jump ring. Add a jump ring to the other end of one chain and a jump ring with trigger clasp to the other.

Stage 6

Add seven 8mm jump rings over each of the bunches of chain to a create an extra bit of detail.

Stage 7

To make the earrings
Thread a square bead onto a headpin. Trim 1cm above the bead, bend it into a loop and attach an eyepin. Thread on fifteen 8mm jump rings followed by a glass square. Trim 1cm above the bead, bend into a loop and attach a long ballwire. Close the loop. Repeat to make a pair.
