Pearls & Bows

Materials

• 1 x 100g glass pearl mix cream (GLXHP20)
• 1m x 12mm organza ribbon black (RNOG1201)
• 2 x ribbon crimps silver plated (RCRSP)
• 3 x packs of 12 eyepins silver plated (EPSP)
• 1 x pack of 12 headpins silver plated (HPSP)
• 1 x pack of 6 long ballwire silver plated (LBWSP)
• 1 x pack of 25 5mm jump rings silver plated (JR5SP)
• 1 x pack of 15 7mm jump rings silver plated (JR7SP)
• 1 x trigger clasp silver plated (TRGSP)
• 1 x project sheet (MJ1011PB)
• You will also need
• 1 pair of multi pliers (CRMT)
• 1 pair of snippers (SNP)

Stage 1

Pick out some matching beads to make the earrings. Two large, two medium and two small glass pearls.

Onto an eyepin thread a bead of your choice, using the cutting part of the multi pliers trim the eyepin 1cm above the bead. Bend into a loop, attach the eye of a second eyepin and close the loop.

Stage 2

Thread on a bead, trim the eyepin 1cm above the bead. Bend into a loop and attach the next eyepin and close the loop. Continue until you have a chain of eight beads. Repeat to make a second chain of eight.

Stage 3

Cut 30cm of ribbon. Tie into a bow and add a few stitches to the centre to keep in place. Trim the ends of the ribbon into an inverted ‘v’ with a sharp pair of scissors.

Stage 4

Open a 7mm jump ring and attach to one end of the chain of eight beads and through the loop on one side of the bow, close the jump ring. Repeat on the other side.

Stage 5

Pick a large bead and thread onto an eyepin, trim the eyepin 1cm above the bead. Bend into a loop, thread through the bottom of the knot on the ribbon and close the loop. Thread a medium sized bead onto an eyepin; trim the eyepin 1cm above the bead. Bend into a loop, attach to the loop on the bottom of the large bead and close the loop. Thread a small bead onto a headpin, trim 1cm above the bead and attach to the loop on the bottom of the medium bead. Close the loop.

Stage 6

Cut two 35cm lengths of ribbon. Attach a ribbon crimp to one end of each length of ribbon and attach a 5mm jump ring. Join to one of the beaded chains, cut the other end of the ribbon at an angle with a sharp pair of scissors or Beads Unlimited snippers (SNP). Repeat to add the remaining ribbon.

Stage 7

To make the earrings
Follow step 5, but add a long ballwire to the top eyepin instead of the ribbon. Repeat to make a pair.
To make the bracelet
Follow steps 1 and 2 to make a beaded chain. When it is the desired length add a 5mm jump ring and a trigger clasp to one end and a jump ring to the other.
