Steps to make this project

Step 1

Fold your length of suede in half and cut at the fold.

Step 2

Fold one length of suede in half, hold the suede near the fold and pass the folded end down through one of the loops on the infinity loop. Make sure that you are holding the loop the right way up, the curved side facing you and the ridged side facing away. So you are passing the suede loop through from the curved side and out at the ridged side.

Step 3

Pass the ends of your suede through the loop of suede to form a lark’s head knot. Pull slowly and ensure that your suede is not twisted to form a nice neat knot.

Step 4

Repeat on the other side.

Step 5

Open the sides of the ribbon crimp slightly using flat nosed pliers. Turn your bracelet so that the ridged side of the loop is facing you. Measure how long you require the bracelet to be and subtract 2cm’s for the clasp. Divide this length in half and measure from the centre of the loop outwards. So if you require the bracelet to be 19cm, 19 – 2 = 17, 17 / 2 = 8.5cm. You would measure 8.5cm from the centre of the infinity loop.

Step 6

Holding the loop end of the crimp, place your thread ends down side by side in the crimp where you have measured to, making sure that the threads are not twisted.

Step 7

Gently fold one side of the crimp down flat then fold the other side over and squash really firmly. Take your time over this to get a neat finish. Trim your thread as close to the crimp as possible. Repeat on the other end.

Step 8

Open a jump ring by gripping near the join with one pair of pliers and using the other pair to twist the ring away from you like a door. Pass one ribbon crimp loop through and close securely.

Step 9

Open a jump ring, add the other end of the ribbon crimp and the clasp then close securely.
