Size 8/0 Silver Lined Seed beads - rainbow colours

Size 11/0 Silver Lined Seed Beads - rainbow colours

8 x 5mm jump  rings ( JR5SP )

Rolo Assembled Chain ( CHD18SP ) 

Size 13 beading needle ( NMD13 )

A sharp pair of scissors ( SCIMX )

Side cutters ( BEESC )

Chain nosed pliers ( BEECN )

Beading mat ( BMT2 )

1. Thread your needle with 1m of stretched beading thread. Pick up 1B, 1A, 1B, and move them along so you have a 20cm tail. Pass back through the first bead so the other 2 beads sit on top. (Picture 1)

2. Pick up 1B and pass through the outside sticking out bead. Pick up 1B and pass down through the bead just added. (Picture 2) Repeat this three more times, the last bead you pick up, pick up and 1A instead of 1B.  You have a row of 6 at the top and a row of 5 at the bottom. (Picture 3) Flip your beadwork so the row of 6 is at the bottom.

3. Pick up 2B and pass the needle under the 2^nd bridging thread in the row below. (Picture 4)

4. Pass up through the 1^st bead added in the previous step, down the 2^nd bead, under the bridging thread again and up through the 2^nd (Picture 5)

5. Pick up 1B and pass the needle under the next bridging thread in the row below and up through the new bead. (Picture 6)

6. Repeat step 5.

7. Flip your beadwork horizontally so your working thread is on the left. Repeat steps 3 to 5.

8. Repeat steps 3 and 4.

9. Pick up 1B and pass down the opposite bead your thread is exiting. Pass through all the outside beads. (Picture 7) Turn your beadwork so the row of 6 is at the top.

10. Repeat step 3. Pass up through the 1^st bead added in the previous step, pick up 1B and pass down through the 2^nd bead and bead 3 in the row below. (Picture 8)

11. Pass up through bead 4. Repeat step 3. Pass up through the 1^st bead added in this step, pick up 1B and pass down through the 2^nd bead and the edge bead below. Weave in and secure the thread. (Picture 9)

12. Repeat steps 1-11 to make the rest of your rainbow beads (photo 10)

13. Using chain nosed pliers, open a jump ring, loop two hearts onto it- through their size 8/0 bead. Close the jump ring. Continue to connect all your hearts in this way until you have a beautiful row of rainbow hearts (photo 11)

14. Using side cutters, cut your assembled chain into two at the centre. You may wish to make the chain shorter to accommodate your length of hearts. Using a jump ring attach the end heart to the end link of your chain. Repeat at the other end. (photo 12)
