Ingredients

1 string x Polymer Clay 4mm Disc Light Mix ( FMAPLMX-1 )

2.4mm metal spacer beads  ( MTEA2432 )

3mm metal spacer beads ( MTEA3032 )

4mm Preciosa crystal bicone beads - Limcicle ( CPB450540-20 )

6mm Preciosa crystal bicone beads - Fuchsia ( CPB670350-12 )

4mm Preciosa crystal bicone beads - Capri Blue ( CPB460310-20 )

Smiley face bead ( PLBR15-200 )

5mm jump rings ( JR5GP )

Black  letter on coloured mix rounds ( PLBQMX-200 )

Star drop charm ( MT1ASGP-10 )

Thick clear elasticity ( EYK05PK-3 )

 

Tools required

A pair of sharp scissors ( SCIMX )

Two pairs of chain nosed pliers ( BEECN )

Beading matt - not essential, but very handy! ( BMT2 )

We used a surgeon's knot to knot our elasticity, this style of double knot tightens against itself ensuring that it will not come undone.

How to tie a surgeon knot

1.  Pass thread A over and across  B to create your circle bracelet shape (photo 1)
2. Wrap your A over and under your B twice to create half your knot (photo 2)
3. Pass B over and under A to create the second part of your knot (photo 3)
4. Pull your knot tight and trim your ends (photo 4)

Bracelet 1

Cut a length of elasticity, thread eleven polymer clay discs and one 3mm metal bead, repeat until your bracelet is your desired length, tie a surgeons knot (photo 5)

Bracelet 2

Cut a length of elasticity, thread one 6mm fuchsia crystal bead, one 2.4mm metal bead, three 4mm limecicle crystal bead, one 2.4mm metal bead, repeat until your bracelet is your desired length, tie a surgeons knot (photo 6)

Bracelet 3 & 4 

Cut a length of elasticity, choose your letter beads from the mix to create the word you are going to spell. Thread your letter beads on to your elastic with one 3mm metal bead in between. Move to the middle of your elasticity. Thread 3mm metal beads on either ends of your threads, until the bracelet is your desired length, tie a surgeons knot.  Use chain nosed pliers to attach a star charm onto your bracelet. Repeat this step again to make then second bracelet, with your chosen word. (photo 7)

Bracelet 5

Cut a length of elasticity, thread one capri blue crystal bead, one 2.4mm metal bead, repeat until your bracelet reaches half the length you would like it to be. Thread one yellow smiley face bead, continue threading your crystal beads and metal beads, repeat until your bracelet is your desired length, tie a surgeons knot (photo 8)
