Free Instructions : Beaded Glasses Chain


A fun simple mini make, and never loose your glasses again! Get your 4mm seed beads ready and make a fun beaded chain for your glasses. We loved creating a bright pop of colour, and spending the time to plan out the sequences of colour...

Materials Needed / what we used:

4mm beads from seed bead box ( GLVTMX )
1m of S-Lon ( SLC )
2 x Spectacle ends ( SE05 )
2 x Calottes ( CASP )
2 x 7mm jump rings ( JR7SP )

Tools Required

Chain Nosed Pliers ( BECN )
A sharp pair of scissors ( SCIMX )
Beads mat (not essential, but very useful!) ( BMT2 )

Instructions


1. In the sequence of your choice, thread your seed beads onto your length of your S-Lon, we threaded beads until we had covered approx 60cm (Photo 1)


2. On one end, thread one calotte, tie an over hand knot in your S-Lon, then tie another over hand knot on top, pull tight, trim the S-Lon tail 3mm from the knot (photo 2)


3. Position the calotte so it's on top of your knot, using your chain nosed pliers, close the calotte (photo 3)


4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 for the other end of your beaded thread. Before you do so, move your beads, and calotte along so they sit snugly against each other - with no visible S-Lon. TIP: when you're tying your over hand knots, before you pull them tight, use a needle to guide the knots in to the right position (photo 4)

5. Using chain nosed pliers, open up on of your jump rings, loop it through your calotte, and one loop of your spectacle end. Close the jump ring. Repeat at the other end (Photo 5) Pop them on your glasses, and show off your new chain!
