Free Design: Little Smiley Heart Stud Earrings

Glue them onto flat studs, or keep them as they are for the sweetest little gifts!

Materials needed

Two 4 x 7mm plastic heart or smiley face beads

36 size 11/0 seed beads of your choice ( a pack a of 5g would be plenty)

2 x Flat Studs ( FSS )

Super Glue ( ZAP )

Beading thread ( any of our beading thread will be suitable )

Earring backs ( SB )

Tools Required

A size 13 beading needle ( ND13 )

A sharp pair of scissors ( SCIMX )

Instructions

1. Take a length of stretched beading thread - we use approx 60cm - and thread your needle

2. Thread one plastic bead, and 8 seed beads ( photo 1 ) move along, leaving a 15cm tail

2. Loop around and pass back through the plastic bead in the opposite direction as step 1, position the seed beads so they are around the edge of the plastic beads ( photo 2 ). Keep hold of the tail so you keep a good tension.

3. Pick up 8 seed beads, and repeat the previous step, and position the seed beads on the other side of the plastic bead. So you have beads now on the top and the bottom ( photo 3 )

4. Pass through the thread path from step 2 again ( photo 4 )

5. Pick up 1 seed bead, pass through the beads from step 3 ( photo 5 )

6. Pick up 1 seed bead, pass through the beads from step 2 continue to pass through a few more beads ( photo 6 )

7. Remove your needle, and thread it onto your tail, pass through the beads from step 3, carry on until you meet the other thread

8. Tie two overhand knots

9. Continue to pass around the outside threads until they feel snug and secure, them trim the thread as close as possible

10. Thread your needle onto the remaining thread, pass around the seed beads in the opposite direction as the previous thread, then trim as close as possible ( photo 7 )
