Free Instructions : Art Deco Drop Earrings

A stylish and easy to make pair of earrings, perfect for a beginner. We just love the frosted crackle glass bead, but you could choose any bead to take its place. We have a lot to choose from!

Materials Needed:

6 x Headpins (HPGP),

6 x bugle beads (SB332),

2 x 8mm jump rings (JR8GP),

6 x 6mm frosted crackle glass beads (GLVE602),

2 x ear wires (LBWGP)

Tools Required:

1 pair of side cutters (BEESC),

1 pair of chain nosed pliers (BEERN),

2 pairs of chain nosed pliers (BEECN),

bead mat (BMT2),

nylon jaw pliers - if necessary (BEDNJ)

Instructions

1. Take three head pins, use nylon jaw pliers to straighten them if necessary, thread 1 x bugle bead, 1 x 6mm frosted crackle glass bead, 1 x bugle bead onto 1 eye pin. Repeat another two times, so you have three beady head pins. Move your beads to the bottom of your head pin (photo 1)

2. Take one of your beady head pins, using chain nosed plier create a 90 degree fold, 15mm along from the end of your top bugle bead (photo 2)

3. Using side cutters, trim your head pin 8mm along from the fold you made in the previous step (photo 3)

4. Using round nosed pliers, turn a neat loop (photo 4), put to one side

5. Take your next beady head pin, using chain nosed plier create a 90 degree fold, 10mm along from the end of your top bugle bead (photo 5)

6. Repeat step 3 & 4 (photo 6, photo 7)

8. Take your next beady head pin, using chain nosed pliers create a 90 degree fold 8mm along from the non-beady end of your head pin (photo 8)

9. Repeat step 4 (photo 9)

10. Using two pairs of chain nosed pliers, open up 1 x 8mm jump ring. Thread on your three beady head pins using the end loops you have just turned. Make sure the longest beady head pin is in the middle of the three. Close the jump ring (photo 10)

11. Using chain nosed pliers, open up the loop on your ear wire, loop this onto your jump ring (photo 11)
