Beading thread of your choice (any of our beading threads are suitable for this project )
1. Thread your needle with 50cm of stretched beading thread, pick up 7 11/0s in S1111, 3 R1105, a crystal drop and 3 R1105. Move the beads down to the centre of the thread then turn and pass back through the last red seed bead. (Picture 1)
2. Pick up a red 11/0, skip a bead in row 1 and pass through the next bead. Repeat to the end of the row. (Picture 2)
3. Pick up a red 11/0, turn and pass through the bead sticking out. Repeat once more. Pick up another red 11/0, pass the needle under the joining thread from the previous row and back up through the 11/0 just added. (Picture 3)
4. Pick up a red 11/0 and pass through the bead sticking out. Repeat to add a further bead. (Picture 4)
5. Pick up a red 11/0, turn and pass through the bead sticking out. Pick up another red 11/0, pass the needle under the joining thread from the previous row and back up through the 11/0 just added.
6. Pick up a red 11/0 and pass through the bead sticking out.
7. Pick up a red 8/0. Turn and pass through the bead sticking out. Weave in and secure this thread.
8. Thread your needle onto the tail thread and repeat steps 3 to 7 to finish the other side (Picture 5)
9. Repeat all the steps, in the other colours to a complete rainbow with 7 little beading and crystal flags flags.
10. Use the pliers to open a jump ring, pass through the size 8/0 on the corner of the red flag, then thread the 8/0 of the orange flag. Repeat to join the flags in rainbow order. (picture 6)
11. Take your chain, using side cutters; cut it at the centre link. Measure your beaded section, and work out how long you would like your necklace to be, trim each length of the two pieces of chain accordingly - to your necklace the length you wish. (Photo 7)
