Free Instructions : Mini Beaded Macramé Bracelet

Learn how to make your own beaded macramé bracelet, we chose a classic black and gold combination, but we have over 30 different S-Lon colours to choose from. We used metal beads, but you could use size 8/0 seed beads instead...or another bead of your choice!

Materials Needed

Approx 90 x 2.4 mm gold plated metal beads for a 7" bracelet ( MTEA2432 )

3m of S-Lon thread - we used black ( SLC01 ) but you could choose any of our 30+ colours!

2 x End caps ( CEA4GP )

2 x 5mm gold plated jump rings ( JR5GP )

1 x extension chain/ trigger clasp set ( EXCH5GP )

Tool Required

Macramé board ( MBDS )

A sharp pair of scissors ( SCIMX )

Super Glue ( ZAP )

Chain nosed pliers ( BEECN )

Instructions

1. Cut two 50cm length of cord, cut two 1m lengths of cord. Match the ends and tie an overhand knot 10cm from the end (photo 1)

2. The shorter two lengths are called the lazy threads, secure either ends of the lazy threads to the top and bottom of your Macramé board to a good tension (photo 2)

3. Now to start knotting. Pass the right hand cord over your lazy thread (photo 3) to make the left and the right cords clearer, we used different colours.

4. Pass your left cord over your right cord under the lazy thread, and up through the loop created by the right cord ( photo 4 )

5. Pull both cords evenly to close your knot photo 5 )

6. Pass the left cord over your lazy thread ( photo 6 )

7. Pass your right cord over the left cord, under the lazy thread, and through the loop created by the left cord ( photo 7 ) Pull both cords evenly to close the knot

Steps 3-7 make one complete square knot

8. Thread one bead onto your right cord, slide it along so it's near the last knot, then repeat step 3 ( photo 8 )

9. Repeat step 4 ( photo 9 )

10. Repeat step 5 - making sure your bead stays positioned on the side, and doesn't get caught up in your knot ( photo 10 )

11. Thread one bead onto your left cord, and repeat steps 6 & 7 making sure your bead doesn't get caught up in your knot ( photo 11 )

12. Repeat steps 8 - 11 ( photo 12 ) until the bracelet is your desired length

13. With all four threads, tie an overhand knot, as close to your end square knot as possible ( photo 13 )

14. Remove your macramé from your board. At one end of your bracelet, trim the ends close to the end overhand knot so it will fit into one of your end caps, you want the end cap to cover the knot. Add glue to this end, and glue the end cap on ( photo 14 ) Repeat at the other end, with your second end cap. Leave to dry
