Silver Plated Crimps (CRSP)
Silver Plated Crimp Covers (CRC3SP)
Trigger and Extension (EXCH4SP-2)
A sharp pair of Scissors (SCIMX)
NB: We have used a black thread for the images to make the process clearer for you.
Take 1m of nylon and thread on the 1st of your beads. Pass the bead down until it is roughly 10cm from the end.
Turn your working end and pass back through the bead leaving a loop.
Now take the working end and pass it through the loop.
Keeping your bead secure in place on your thread with your non dominant hand, gently pull until the thread sits snugly around the bead. I find pulling the loop closed first them pulling on the working thread works best. Then move the bead just slightly towards your working thread end to secure the knot inside the bead.
Add your next bead and repeat the process. We secured our beads roughly 5cm apart but you can have any length gap that you like.
Continue adding beads until your necklace is just shy of the length you would like. Add a crimp bead and one half of the clasp to the thread. Turn the thread and pass it back through the cimp bead, choose how far from your last nead you would like your clasp and pull the excess thread through the crimp to make a neat loop.
Crimp the crimp using crimping pliers and trim the excess thread. (See our blog on crimps for tips if you are new to using crimping pliers.)
Slide a crimp cover over the crimp and gently close using the rounded end of the crimping pliers. Repeat on the other end and show off your new creation!
