Semi Precious Initial Friendship Bracelets

A simple but stylish bracelet with a personalised touch, ideal for gifts. Learn how to tie a surgeon's knot, the best type of knot for securing your stretchy bracelets.

Ingredients 

2.4 metal beads ( MTEA3032 )
A length of elasticity ( EYK05 )
An initial bead ( PLBAMX )
Semi Precious beads of your choice. Here are the beads we used:
Tigers eye beads ( TIG6SRMX-40 )
Dyed Tigers eye beads ( TIG6SR-40 )
Dalmation Jasper beads( DAL6RO-40 )
Unakite beads ( UNA6SR-40 )
Chrysocolla beads ( CHR6RO-40 )
 

Tools required

A sharp pair of scissors ( SCIMX )
A beading mat ( BMT-1 )

Instructions

1. take a length of elasticity, thread 1 semi precious bead, one metal bead.
2. Repeat this sequence until you reach the middle point of your bracelet,  add an initial bead.
3. Continue threading one semi precious, one metal bead alternately until the bracelet is your desired length
4. Tie a surgeon's knot - see below
 

How to tie a surgeon's knot

1.  Pass thread A over and across  B to create your circle bracelet shape (photo 1)
2. Wrap your A over and under your B twice to create half your knot (photo 2)
3. Pass B over and under A to create the second part of your knot (photo 3)
4. Pull your knot tight and trim your ends (photo 4)
