Free Instructions: Illuminate Crystal Bracelet

Using the cross weave technique, learn how to make a crystal bracelet. Or carry on weaving so it's long enough for a necklace!  We chose a bold colour way ( we have linked below to the beads we used ) but with over 46 different colours of Preciosa Crystal beads to choose from, and over 60 seed beads colours, the colour possibilities are endless! We weaved a 6.5" length, and then added an trigger/ extension chain set so the bracelet can be variable lengths. This is a perfect project for beginners to bead weaving

 

Materials used 

5g Size 11/0 sea blue Preciosa seed beads ( S1147 )
5g Size 11/0 dark blue Preciosa seed beads ( S1142 )
5g Size 8/0 dark blue Preciosa seed beads ( S842 )
12 x 5mm Rose Preciosa crystal bicones  ( CPB570010-24 )
11 x 6mm Rose Preciosa crystal bicones ( CPB670010-12 )
2 x 5mm silver plated jump rings ( JR5SP )
1 x extension and trigger set ( EXCH4SP-2 )
Reel of nymo ( NMD12-1 )

 

Tools Required

2 x size 13 beading needles ( ND13 )
Chain nosed pliers ( BEECN-1 )
A sharp pair of scissors
A beading mat ( BMT2-1 )

Legend
A - Size 8/0 dark blue seed beads B - Size 11/0 Sea blue seed beads C - Size 11/0 dark blue seed beads
1. Thread one needle onto either end of a comfortable length of stretched beading thread, thread 1A, and position it in the middle of your thread ( photo 1 )
2. Pick up one 5mm bicone, and pass both your needles through ( photo 2 )
3. Pick up 3B onto each of your threads ( photo 3 )
4. Pick up one 6mm bicone on to one of your threads ( photo 4 )
5. Pass your other thread through the 6mm bicone in the opposite direction ( photo 5 )
6. Pick up 3B onto each of your threads (photo 6 )
7. Repeat step 2
8. Repeat step 2 - 6 until you have used eleven 6mm bicone beads, and twelve 5mm bicones, finish on a step 2 ( photo 7 )
9. Pick up 1A, and pass both threads through ( photo 8 )
 10. Loop both threads around , missing the 1A, pass back through the last 5mm bicone your picked up ( photo 9 )
11. Pass one needle through the 3Bs on one side of your beadwork ( photo 10 )
12. Pass the other needle through the other 3Bs ( photo 11 )
13. On one needle pick up 1C, 1A, 1C, and pass through the next 3B ( photo 12 )
14. Repeat step 13 with the other needle ( photo 13 )
15. Pass both needles up through the 5mm bicone ( photo 14 )
16. Repeat step 13, 14, 15 until you reach the end of your bracelet
17. Weave in and secure your thread 
18. Using chain nosed pliers, open up a jump ring, loop it through one of your end As, and your trigger clasp ( photo 15 )
19. Repeat at the other end with the extension chain ( photo 16 )
 

You're finished!
